Annapurna Sanctuary (Base Camp) Trek
This moderate trek takes you right into the heart of the mountains begining just outside Pokhara and ending at Birathanti where you will be virtually surrounded by soaring Himalayan peaks. It goes through a variety of villages including Gurungs, Magar, and Thakali. It's not an overly difficult trek and at lower altitudes the terrain passes through monsoon rain forest and rhododendron forest. The mountain scenary is stunning with views of Fishtail, Annapurna 1, 2, and 3 plus many more. This trek is regarded as one of the best and at one time was a real expedition into the uninhabited wilderness area. This trek takes around 13 days.
