Mont Blanc - Ascent
Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in France at 4808 meters ( although these days some people say its 4810m!). It's a much saught after summit. We have been sucessfully providing these courses for over 14 years and many other tour operaters have tried to emulate our itinerary and good sucess rate. Our six day itinerary consist of 4 days training and practise. The firt day includes glacier travel skills, crevasse awareness, ice axe and crampon technique and then a three day training/acclimatisation trip taking in two nights at high mountain huts and spectacular ascents of good training summits which provide excellent acclimatization and preperation for a two day ascent of Mont Blanc. Mont Blanc can be an easy mountain when the snow, and weather condirtions are superb, however please be prepared for a very long summit day, as it's a tough day by the time you get back to the valley ! This week is suitable for beginners as long as you are fit as full training in basic skills are provided however some walking/mountaineering experience is benificial and a good level of fitness is essential!
