Shishapagma

Shishapagme 8012 meters in Tibet was first climbed by the Chinese. This is  straight forward climb, perhaps not quite as straight forward as Cho Oyu,  but still a good summit for a first 8000 meter peak. The mountain was first climbed by the Chinese and holds several fine routes.

Again, our itinerary begins by meeting in Kathmandu, from where after some sight-seeing and pre-arrangements we drive to the Nepalie/Tibet ( Chinese) border. and tehn we continue overland to Nylam and then to Shishapagma Chinese Base Camp.. We take several days to rest and accliamtise here and then we take Yaks and walk to the site of advanced base camp.. Camp 1 is at 6730 M  which takes about 4-6 hours . From there Camp 2 is at 7045 M, which is quite a hard day and take 6-7 hours. We will go up and down the mountain quite a bit to aid acclimatisation and establish the route. Our Guide and Sherpas will fix ropes on some sections between Camp 2 and Camp 3 ( 7400M) on the South West Face. Once at camp 3 we spend the rest of the day re-hydrating, eating and resting and early the next morning we set off for the summit. This  high point summit is regarded as the guiding summit, however if conditions and fitness allow its worth the effort to try and reach the true Summit. This is long and arduos.
