Everest Base camp via the Cho La Pass

A stunning 16 day trek which begins with an exciting flight from Kathmandu to the village of Lukla a small village nestled in the foothills of the Khumbu region.  From here we trek up to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar and then on to the sacred lakes of the Gokyo Valley which brings you stunning close up views of the South side of Cho Oyu another on of the famous 8000 metres Peaks.  He we can climb Gokyo Ri (5360 metres) and from the summit can look over to see views of Mont Everest and Makalu.  We then cross over into the Khumbu valley via the Cho La pass 5420m, head up to Gorak Shep which is the last village before Everest Base camp.  An ascent of Kala Pattar at 5600m is worth it for the great views of Everest and the Khumbu ice fall.  From here we head back down the Khumbu valley via the monastery of Thyangboche.
