Everest Base Camp Trek/Kala Patthar
Everest Base Camp Trek is an outstanding journey which takes you into the heart of the Khumbu. On route we also plan to visit Ama Dablam Base camp where you will see base camp life and a magnificent close up view of the West face. This 12 day trek, begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to the small village Lukla (2840m) which is perched in the foothills of the Khumbu. You travel up the main valley through lush green pastures, passing through very traditional Sherpha villages including two nights in the Sherpha capital of Namche Bazzarr. The terrain eventually becomes more wild and arrid as you slowly gain altitude with stunning views of some very famous himalayan peaks such as Ama Dablam and Lhotse. Our final destination will be Gorak Shep which was a one time the origional Everest Base camp, where we will then make an ascent of Kala Pattar (5550m). From here fantastic views of Everest can be seen as you look over to the Khumbu ice fall, South Col and of course Everest Summit. A truly magnificent trek.
